New York School of Interior Design
New York, NY
A redesign of an unusually long entry lobby to a typical New York Pre-War office building. The faceted wood ceiling provides light coves and adjustable spot lighting with numerous circuits to allow for a wide variety of lighting scenarios. The concrete reception desk is designed in the spirit of Richard Serra. Materials include porcelain floor tiles, plaster walls and wood paneled ceilings. The space will double as an art space to showcase larger pieces from the building owner’s art collection and it will also be used by a tenant, The Graduate Center of the New York School of Interior Design for student exhibits.
