The Consulate of Trinidad and Tobago

New York, NY

The Consulate of Trinidad and Tobago was designed to accommodate large public functions as well as administrative offices and support spaces.

When the elevator doors open, one enters a spacious gallery showcasing brilliant images that recall the home country. In addition, a wall of glass doors are etched with a collage of the two islands  which separate the gallery from the reception area. The numerous banks of glass doors can be opened to combine different spaces and create a contiguous area that can accommodate large celebrations or national day events.

The colors and materials reflect the islands tropical exuberance displayed by the local vegetation, animals, foods, and its world famous carnival.
